I feel a little jealousy and possession over one of my friends from time to time
is it normal?
Son, when you feel that prick of jealousy, see it as an invitation. Bring it to Jesus. Don't hide it in shame. Say,
"Jesus, I feel this fear of losing my friend. I feel this need to be their favorite. This feeling is ruling me right now, and I give it to you. Fill that place in my heart with the security of your perfect love. Help me to love my friend freely, as you love me."
The goal is not to never feel jealousy, but to not let it rule you. When you bring it to Jesus, you transform it with him into a prayer for your friend's joy and a trust in God's provision for your own heart.
You are loved with an everlasting love. Rest in that. From that secure place, you can love your friend without fear, without possession, and with a heart that truly rejoices in their happiness.
Thank you for replying, I'm not religious but I can tell you're coming from a good place, I should have explained it a bit better I meant it more as being jealous over him liking a guy romantically but its not a big deal, even if he did I'd find a way to get over it because I'm so grateful to have him just as my friend
